ABOUT US
A TEAM DRIVEN BY CURIOSITY,
CREATIVITY, AND COMMUNITY.
Railside Robotics is a Purdue student organization that designs, builds, and competes with combat robots.

OUR MISSION
Railside Robotics seeks to make combat robotics accessible and engaging to all Purdue students, regardless of background or experience. By offering design support, teaching fabrication, and hosting competitions, we empower students to transform classroom knowledge into real engineering innovation while fostering collaboration, creativity, and technical excellence.
Railside Robotics was founded at Purdue in the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year. Members work in small teams to design, fabricate, and compete with their own robots. Hands-on workshops and onboarding help beginners build their first robot, and experienced members give newer teams feedback on their designs.
For the 2025-2026 academic year, the club reported more than 60 active members, 15 majors represented, and 22 robots in development.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Railside Robotics connects with the wider community through public combat robotics competitions, bringing teams and enthusiasts from across the Midwest to Purdue. Members also support younger students interested in STEM by helping judge 4-H youth robotics competitions.
